L O A D I N G

Here are twelve nasties you don’t want your surveyor to find in your home.  Your building survey will normally include investigations on these building defects or hazards.

But if any of these are present, all is not lost. Remember, the aim of the survey is not to scare you or your buyer away, but to provide advice and put things in perspective, so you are fully informed on how to proceed:-

  1. Asbestos
  2. Rising Damp
  3. Tree root damage
  4. Subsidence
  5. Dry Rot
  6. Japanese Knotweed
  7. Concrete Cancer
  8. Sulphate Attack
  9. Radon
  10. Lead piping
  11. Fire Spread and inflammable materials
  12. Woodworm / Deathwatch Beatle

The above issues are all notorious and a nuisance. However, far more damage is common from leaky gutters and general neglect.
